The basic requirements for food packaging boxes include regulations on material safety, packaging hierarchy, void ratio, and cost.
Firstly, the material of food packaging boxes must be safe and non-toxic, and materials containing harmful substances cannot be used. For example, plastic packaging boxes require the use of non-toxic, odorless, and tasteless materials such as polyethylene, polypropylene, and other polymer materials. Paper packaging boxes should be produced using renewable fiber materials, while the raw materials for wooden packaging boxes should come from sustainable forests.
Secondly, there are strict regulations on packaging hierarchy and void ratio. The number of packaging layers for grain and processed products shall not exceed three, and for other commodities, it shall not exceed four. The packaging void ratio is determined based on the net content to ensure the efficiency and economy of the packaging.
In addition, there are clear regulations on packaging costs. The internal packaging cost of direct contact with the product cannot exceed 20% of the product's selling price, and the packaging cost of gift boxes in circulation on the market with a selling price of over 100 yuan cannot exceed 15%, and precious metals and mahogany materials cannot be used.
Finally, there are specific requirements for the labeling and identification of food packaging boxes. When a large packaging gift box contains multiple small pre packaged foods that can be sold independently, each small package should be labeled with all mandatory labeling content. The production date and shelf life should be calculated based on the earliest expired individual food item.
